Special guest room
with open-air onsen 
(type D)

This was the very first guest room in Japan to have its own open-air onsen. The onsen and a bed are set on a spacious half-covered wood terrace. The indoor room also feels very open. Together they provide a very luxurious experience.

Living room
with onsen 
(type B)

This was originally a guest room with an open-air onsen, but we added walls, a roof, windows, and floor heating to create a comfortable room with a sofa and bed as well as an onsen. The resulting room could be called either a living room or a bathroom. It's a new type of space for relaxing.

At the back of the Gajoen site, we created a spacious stand-alone maisonette-style room that has a living room with its own onsen living room and a linked room with six tatami mats upstairs, plus a living room including a charcoal hearth built into a recessed space in the floor downstairs.

Washitsu suite
(type WS)

Facing the Amorigawa river, washitsu (Japanese-style room) suites combine a spacious tatami room with a private semi-open onsen. Large windows can be fully opened, creating a space for relaxing that feels intimately close to the nature around you.
